December 28, 2023 | Women's Basketball
CORVALLIS, Ore. – Another dominant performance from Raegan Beers, the re-emergence of Adlee Blacklock and an outstanding playmaking game from Dominika Paurová was the recipe for Oregon State's 11th straight victory, a 80-51 win over Morgan State.
Â
Beers led the scoring effort with 24 points while grabbing eight rebounds. Blacklock came off the bench to score a season-high 15 points on 4-of-7 shooting from three. For her part, Paurova dished seven assists, part of 23 helpers for the team. The freshman was a team-high plus-25.
Â
Kelsey Rees rounded out the three OSU players in double figures with 11 points. She also pulled down seven rebounds with a block.
Â
The Beavers jumped out to the early lead, getting a big boost from Blacklock to win the first quarter 26-16. The sophomore scored nine points in five minutes, including a quarter-closing four-point play and a personal 5-0 run with a steal midway through the period.
Â
Morgan State battled back in the second, aided by Beaver turnovers to pull within six at the half before the Beavers ran away with the game in the third quarter. The Beavs went on an 18-4 run to open the period, keyed by eight points from Beers. Paurova handed out three times in the period, most to Beers and Rees in the paint.
Â
OSU shot 55 percent from the floor while holding Morgan State to 39 percent, including 33 percent in the second half. The Beavers did not allow a three-pointer in the second half. Oregon State made 39 percent from downtown. Blacklock and Timea Gardiner both made over 40 percent of their triples.
