Hodgkinson Finishes Tied For 12th To Lead Beavers At Men’s Golf Championships
April 30, 2023 | Men's Golf
STANFORD, Calif. – Collin Hodgkinson ended his trip to the Pac-12 Championships in a tie for 12th, finishing the three-day event with a 2-under 278 at the Stanford Golf Course.
Hodgkinson finished with a 1-under 71 in the final round at the 6,727-yard course, and picked up two more birdies for 11 over the four rounds. He also ended the trip with three birdies, the most of any individual at the tournament.
Hodgkinson was the top finisher for the Beavers, who ended the four rounds with a 23-over 1,423, taking ninth overall.
"Collin played some really nice golf this week," Oregon State head coach Jon Reehoorn said. "It's easy to think that since you haven't played a tournament in a while it will take a bit get back in the groove, and Collin proved that to be wrong this week. Belief in yourself to show up in the biggest moments never leaves you and Collin brought it this week even after a disappointing spring.
"We need to continue to sharpen up our short games. We need to be ready to take on shots when an opportunity to capitalize presents itself…and I'm confident this group can get back to Grayhawk."
Jackson Lake finished at par on Sunday for the second consecutive day and third round overall. He finished the tournament with a 4-over 284 to finish in a tie for 34th. Lake ended the event with nine birdies.
Rylan Johnson took 46th in his first Pac-12 event, finishing with an 8-over 288. He posted back-to-back 2-over 72s in the final two days. He tied with Hodgkinson for the team lead with 11 birdies.
Carson Barry posted a 9-over 289 to end the trip tied for 47th. Nolan Thoroughgood posted a 1-over 71 Sunday and ended the 72 holes tied for 53rd with an 11-over 291. Mateo Fuenmayor tied for 60th at 4-over 294 via a 4-over 74 in the final round.
