Kyridou and Wood Join Men’s Rowing Coaching Staff
October 31, 2025 | Men's Rowing
CORVALLIS, Ore. – Anneta Kyridou and Emily Wood have been added to the Oregon State men's rowing coaching staff, it was announced on Friday.

"Together, Anneta and Emily bring elite rowing experience and a deep understanding of this Beaver community. They share our commitment to developing student-athletes who excel on the water, in the classroom and as leaders that are being prepared for life's challenges and opportunities post-graduation," Director of Rowing Michael Eichler said. "I am looking forward to adding their talents to this terrific staff and to watching our athletes grow under their leadership."

Kyridou served as an assistant coach at Nautical Club of Giannitsa in Greece during the 2023-24 season, where she gained hands-on experience in recruiting, on-water coaching, and technical boat rigging.

Her time at Nautical Club of Giannitsa came after a standout collegiate career at Ohio State that included a pair of First Team All-Big Ten Selections and Academic All-Big Ten selections in 2022 and 2023, being named First Team All-America in 2022 and Honorable Mention All-America in 2023.

Originally from Kalamaria Thessaloniki, Greece, Kyridou represented Greece at the 2021 Tokyo Olympic Games, competing in the women's single sculls and finishing 10th overall. Her international career includes numerous medals across World, European, Balkan, and National Championships, earning recognition from the Hellenic Olympic Committee for rowing excellence from 2015-2020.

"I'm honored to join the Oregon State rowing program and work alongside a dedicated staff and talented group of student-athletes," Kyridou said. "Coaching is an opportunity to share my passion for rowing and to help inspire the next generation of athletes, and I'm excited to contribute to the team's growth and success while helping our program reach its highest potential on and off the water."

Wood recently completed her academic and athletic career at Oregon State, earning degrees in both English and environmental science while minoring in applied journalism and earning a certificate in scientific, technical and professional communication.

As a senior in 2025, Wood coxed the Oregon State second varsity eight boat that had multiple wins over ranked opponents and posted a nine second margin of victory in the Grand Final of the West Coast Conference Championship, helping the team win its first ever conference championship and make its fourth ever team appearance at the NCAA Rowing Championships.

A native of Nashville, Tenn., Wood coached youth rowers at Oregon State's and Nashville Junior Rowing summer camps and completed a summer internship with US Rowing's communications department. She also completed the CRCA Academy of Future Coaches program and is pursuing her US Rowing Level 2 Coaching Certification.

"As a former Oregon State student-athlete, I have a lifelong commitment to and appreciation for this program," Wood said. "I'm thrilled to return in this capacity and bring everything I've learned to help our men's program thrive while working and growing alongside our athletes each and every day.

Oregon State men's rowing will compete at Head of the Lake on Nov. 2 before hosting its annual Orange & Black Regatta on Nov. 8 at the Oregon State Rowing Center. Registration is now open and can be found at beav.es/OB2025.
