
Beavers Beat T-Birds

CORVALLIS – The Oregon State men's basketball team led wire-to-wire for the second-straight game, as the Beavers claimed a 81-70 win over Southern Utah Saturday afternoon at Gill Coliseum.
Johan Munch had one of his best games of the season, going for 16 points, five rebounds and four blocks on 6-for-7 shooting from the floor. Dez White had a hot shooting day, going 4-for-7 from 3-point range to finish with 20 points and three assists.
Josiah Lake II tallied 10 points, eight rebounds and four steals, while Isaiah Sy had 10 points and three rebounds. Jorge Diaz Graham filled the stat sheet with six points, five assists, three rebounds and three blocks.
As a team, the Beavers shot 51.8 percent from the floor and 42.1 percent from 3-point range. With the win Oregon State moves to 5-5 on the season.
Jaiden Feroah led Southern Utah with 27 points and five assists.
Oregon State got off to a strong start, scoring the first five points of the game on its way to a 20-10 advantage. The Beavers used an 11-0 run to extend the lead to 36-18 with just under six minutes to play in the opening period.
OSU headed to the intermission in front 45-30. White was on fire in the first 20 minutes of action, going 4-for-4 from 3-point range to head to the locker room with 16 points.
The Thunderbirds got back within 11 early in the second half, but Munch exploded for four consecutive baskets to put Oregon State back up by 17. Southern Utah cut the edge to single digits with seven minutes to go. The Beavers were able to maintain control from there, claiming the win by 11.
Oregon State will now be off for a week before Montana State visits Gill Coliseum next Saturday.
