Rumel and Marrs Recognized as All-Region Selections
December 09, 2025 | Women's Volleyball
CORVALLIS, Ore. – Lauren Rumel and Alana Marrs have been recognized as All-Region selections for the Northwest Region, the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) announced on Tuesday.
Rumel, named First Team All-Region and Marrs, named Honorable Mention, join Mary-Kate Marshall (2014, '16, '17) and Rachel Rourke (2008, '09) as the only AVCA All-Region honorees in program history.
A First Team All-WCC selection and member of the WCC's All-Academic team after an incredible senior season, Rumel ranked third in the conference for kills (382), kills per set (3.78), points per set (4.19) and fourth in total points (423). Named Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 15 after tallying 43 kills on 108 swings, a .306 clip, the Tucscon, Ariz., native finished with double-digit kills in 21 different matches.
Marrs was recently named WCC Freshman of the Year, First Team All-WCC and to the conference's All-Freshman team. The Ellensburg, Wash., finished her tremendous freshman season with 220 kills (2.24/set) while hitting .361, also leading the team in solo blocks (28), block assists (76), and total blocks (104).
Her accolades for the year also include four All-WCC weekly awards and top 10 marks in the conference for hitting percentage (fourth) solo blocks (first), assisted blocks (ninth), total blocks (seventh) and blocks per set (eighth), while her hitting percentage also set a new program record by a freshman and ranks second-highest for any athlete in a single season ever.
Oregon State volleyball recently concluded its third regular season under the leadership of Head Coach Lindsey Behonick with a 19-9 record, which is the team's highest win total since posting 21 back in 2017. In fact, the 2025 season is just the fourth time that OSU has won 18 or more matches in the last 30 years, having previously reached that win total in 2017 (21-12, 7th Pac-12), 2014 (21-13, t-7th Pac-12) and 1996 (19-12, 7th Pac-12).
Finishing top three in the final regular season standings, it was just the second time ever that OSU has finished a season in the top five of the conference standings, and first in the top three, having placed fifth in the Pac-12 in 2001.
