CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State volleyball will open play in the 2026 season this weekend in Utah, facing Utah Tech, Utah Valley and the Utah Utes across three days of competition.

YEAR TO REMEMBER
OSU is coming off a tremendous 2025 season that culminated in a 19-9 record, which was the team's highest win total since posting 21 back in 2017. The 2025 season was just the fourth time that Oregon State has won 18 or more matches in the last 30 years, having previously reached that win total in 2017 (21-12, 7th Pac-12), 2014 (21-13, t-7th Pac-12) and 1996 (19-12, 7th Pac-12).

Finishing top three in the final regular season standings, it was just the second time ever that the Beavers have finished a season in the top five of the conference standings, and first in the top three, having placed fifth in the Pac-12 in 2001.

NEW FACES
Oregon State welcomed eight new student-athletes to the Beaver family this offseason: true freshmen Isabel Bertelsen (Orlando, Fla.), Abby Lesagonicz (San Diego, Calif.) and Beatrice Spada (Verona, Italy) as well as transfers AC Froehlich (LSU), Ivana Cvetkovic (Wake Forest), Aly Cox (Pacific), Amaya Tolentino (Jacksonville State) and Taylor Treahy (George Washington).

FULL-CIRCLE MOMENT
A setter at Oregon State, Utah Tech head coach Camilla Hafoka (née Ah-Hoy) finished her career fifth in program history with 3,085 assists, starting in all four of her collegiate seasons in Corvallis. After years of working her way up the coaching ranks with stops at BYU-Hawai'i and Kahuku High School, Friday's match will mark the first time that Oregon State has faced a team led by Coach Hafoka.

STANDOUT SOPHOMORE
Alana Marrs had an incredible freshman season in orange and black, leading the team in blocks (104.0), solo blocks (28) and block assists (76), hitting .361, which was the second-highest single season percentage in program history and a new freshman record. With 220 kills, the Ellensburg, Wash., native tallied double-digit kills in 11 matches - including a season-high 15 at Portland State on a .407 clip - and was a three-time West Coast Conference Freshman of the Week and one-time Defensive Player of the Week. For all her success, she earned Freshman of the Year honors along with a First Team All-Conference nod, adding an AVCA All-Northwest Region Honorable Mention selection.

THE BEST COAST
Originally from Santa Clarita, Calif., Treahy transferred to Oregon State after two seasons on the East Coast, excelling in the nation's capital while playing for George Washington. An A-10 All-Rookie Team selection in 2024, she totaled 283 kills as a freshman and chipped in 29 aces, elevating her game as a sophomore on her way to a First Team All-Conference nod after tallying 289 kills and 73 blocks. Treahy also clocked a career-high 29 kills at George Mason, which leveled with the A-10's single-season match record.

Joining the Beavers last winter, Treahy led the Beavers in kills during a four set exhibition match at the University of Washington on Aug. 15.

BABY BEAVS
OSU added a trio of true freshman this offseason. Bertelsen, who was an AVCA Best and Brightest First Team selection and two-time 7A State Champion at Winter Park High School in Orlando, Fla., and Lesagonicz, a First Team All-League selection in all four seasons playing at Rancho Bernardo High School in San Diego, Calif., both graduated early and were with the team for all of its spring matches.

Spada, an Italian international who last played for Club Italia in the Serie A2, played for the Italian U-18 National Team in 2024 and helped them to a second-place finish in 2024-25 after helping the U-16 team to a second-place finish in the National League in 2022-23.

MISCELLANEOUS NOTES:
- Beaver volleyball went international this offseason, traveling to Europe on a trip that included stops in Turkey, Austria, Germany and Italy. The team went undefeated across six matches played.

- Head Coach Lindsey Behonick enters her fourth season at the helm of the program, signing an extension in the offseason. Associate Head Coach and Recruiting Coordinator Abbie Wright and Assistant Coach Becca Holtgeerts have also been on staff during all three of the previous seasons under Coach Behonick.

- Two members of the program make a return to familiar grounds this weekend, as sophomore middle blocker Taray Tela is a Provo native who played at Timpview High School and was a First Team All-State and All-Region selection. Assistant Coach Mitchel Worthington played collegiately at BYU and finished his career ranked sixth all-time in career digs, playing 379 sets across 119 matches while helping the Cougars to a 17-1 mark during the 2020 season.

- A roster built with talent from across the globe, OSU has three players who grew up outside of the United States in Spada (Italy), Cvetkovic (Serbia) and Narlioglu (Turkey). Two student-athletes came to the mainland after growing up in Hawaii; Kama Goldstein (Honolulu, Hawai'i / Kamehameha High School) is now a sophomore, and Jackie Matias enters her senior season after attending Punahou School in Honolulu and playing two seasons at Hawai'i.

A NEW ERA STARTS NOW
OSU is back in the Pac-12 after two seasons competing in the West Coast Conference, adding Boise State, Colorado State, Fresno State, Gonzaga, San Diego State, Texas State and Utah State to a conference that already included the Beavers and Washington State. Also new this season is the first ever Pac-12 Championship Tournament, which will take place the week of Nov. 23 on the campus of whichever team posts the highest first half conference winning percentage.
