Smolinski Finishes 3-Under On First Day In Hawai’i

KOHALA COAST, Hawai'i – Bradley Smolinski shot a 3-under 69 in the first round of the Amer Ari Intercollegiate as the Oregon State men's golf team returned to action on Thursday.
The Beavers' first event of the spring is being held at the Mauna Lani Resort, a par-72, 6,913-yard course.
Smolinski birdied five holes, including three on the back nine, to pace Oregon State on its first of three days at the event. He is tied for 36th entering day two.
Stanley Lin was close behind, with a 2-under 70. He birdied four holes, three of which came on the front nine. He enters the second day tied at 51st.
Rylan Johnson finished at par, while Brandon Eyre was a 2-over 74 and Collin Hodgkinson finished with an 8-over 80. Brody Marconi, competing as an individual, shot a 16-over 88.
The Beavers, as a team, finished with a 3-under 285 in the first day of action.
