Kyra Ly Named WCC Golfer of the Month
March 17, 2025 | Women's Golf
CORVALLIS, Ore. – Kyra Ly was selected the West Coast Conference Women's Golfer of the Month for February, as announced by the conference office on Monday.
Ly, a junior from Portland, won the individual title at the Causeway Invitational in Sacramento, Calif. (Feb. 24-25) and finished 21st at the San Diego State Classic (Feb. 10-11) in the Beavers' two events in February.
At the Causeway Invitational, Ly won an individual title for the second time in her three-year Oregon State career. Her first title came at the Juli Inkster at Meadow Club Invitational last March when she shared medalist honors with Camille Boyd of Washington after the tournament was suspended through 36 holes due to inclement weather and unplayable greens.
She shot a 16-under 65-66-69—200 and broke three Oregon State records: best three-round score: 16-under 200 (previous record was 11-under 205 by Ellie Slama); best 36-hole score: 13-under 131; best single-round score: 7-under 65 (previous record was 6-under 66 by Nicole Schroeder {twice}, Olivia Benzin, Ellie Slama).
Ly also led the Beavers to the title at the Causeway Invitational, their first team championship since March 2020.
This is the second time Ly has received honors from a conference office for her play on the course. She was selected the Pac-12 Golfer of the Week on March 11, 2024.
Ly is the second Oregon State women's golfer to be named a conference player of the month. Ellie Slama was selected the Pac-12 Golfer of the Month in October 2018.
Raya Nakao and Ly were both named to the West Coast Conference Women's Golf Preseason Team, as selected by a vote of the conference coaches on January 28, 2025.
