FAIRFAX, Calif. – Madde Sund, Kyra Ly and Raya Nakao all posted Top 20 finishes to lead the Oregon State women's golf team at the Juli Inkster at Meadow Club Invitational on Tuesday.
The Beavers were limited to four players competing and had to count every score but had their best round of the tournament on the final day, an even-par 288, to jump two spots up the leaderboard to sixth place with a 17-over 289-304-288—881 at the par-72, 6,157-yard Meadow Club.
Sund, a native of Skollersta, Sweden, recorded her second career Top 10 finish, a tie for 10th place, with an even-par 70-76-70—216. Her best career finish is a tie for seventh place at the NCAA Regionals in Westfield, Indiana in the spring of 2023.
A senior, Sund has been on fire in the three spring events with a 12th place finish at the San Diego State Classic, a tie for 15th at the Causeway Invitational and a tie for 10th at the Meadow Club Invitational. She had 10 birdies in the three rounds in Fairfax and now has 13 sub-par scores in her collegiate career.
Ly and Nakao both finished in a tie for 20th place with a 4-over 220, as Ly posted scores of 70-78-72 and Nakao finished with 75-71-74. Each of them knocked down seven birdies over the 54 holes.
