Named a National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Scholar-Athlete following the last two seasons, Munoz is pursuing a master's degree in education following a bachelors in chemistry.
Consistently ranked among the nation's best, Munoz has been one of the most decorated wrestlers at Oregon State during the Pendleton era. He was the first to garner consecutive All-American honors since 2018-19 and has won 20 or more matches in three seasons.

The athletics accomplishments of the nominees are a consideration in voting for the award.
