Beaver Comeback Falls Short vs. Pepperdine

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – A late Oregon State rally came up just short Saturday evening, as the Beavers fell to Pepperdine 77-73 in the WCC Tournament at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, Nev.
Oregon State trailed by 11 with five minutes to go, but used an 8-0 run to get back within three in the closing minutes. The Beavers trailed by two with 16 seconds left, but were unable to overtake the Waves.
Damarco Minor led the way with 20 points, eight rebounds and four assists. Nate Kingz scored 18 points and had four assists. Parsa Fallah recorded 16 points on 6-for-9 shooting to go with five rebounds.
Liutauras Lelevicius scored 15 points and pulled down seven rebounds before fouling out in the closing moments of the game. As a team, the Beavers shot 44 percent from the floor.
The Beavers hit a pair of 3-pointers to open the game, and took a 13-7 lead into the game's first media timeout. The Waves battled back to go in front, and the sides traded punches from there as Oregon State headed to the break leading 40-38.
OSU used a 7-0 run to take a 47-43 edge early in the second half, but Pepperdine responded to open up a 10-point lead with 10 minutes left to play. The Waves were in front by 11 with five minutes on the clock, but an 8-0 Beaver run got Oregon State back within striking distance with 2:14 to go.
Oregon State was within two in the closing seconds of the game, but never retook the lead.
