March 09, 2025 | Women's Gymnastics
SAN JOSE, Calif. – Jade Carey earned a pair of 9.975s on her way to a 39.825 in the all-around on Sunday, leading Oregon State gymnastics to a 197.025 team score and victory against San Jose State.
Sunday's performance is the latest in what's been an incredible senior season for Carey, as the Phoenix, Ariz., native has now won the all-around and beam event title in every single one of her nine appearances. Starting the meet with a 9.925 on bars, she then earned a 9.975 on vault and 9.950 on floor, rounding things out with another 9.975 on the beam.
Carey is now up to seven 9.975s this season, though she has yet to see a perfect 10, while the all-around victory was her ninth in as many appearances in 2025.
Sophia Esposito had a strong showing in San Jose, posting a trio of 9.850-plus scores; she started with a 9.850 on both vault and floor before finishing her meet with a 9.900 on the beam. The reigning Pac-12 Freshman of the Year has been a key part of the Beaver lineups as a sophomore, never scoring below a 9.800 on floor while earning a 9.850 or better on the beam in seven meets.
Sage Thompson's tremendous senior season also continued on Sunday. She earned the second-highest bar score of any athlete in Sunday's meet during the first rotation, scoring a 9.875 on the bars, before vaulting her way to a 9.825 and earning a 9.825 on floor in the third rotation.
Kaitlin Garcia vaulted her way to a 9.900 and Lauren Letzsch earned a 9.875 on the beam as Francesca Caso (9.825 – UB) and Jennifer McMillan (9.850 – UB) also helped play a big role in OSU's fourth 197-plus team score of the season.
Oregon State gymnastics returns to action next weekend at home, hosting Air Force inside Gill Coliseum.
