RIGHT DIRECTION:
Oregon State returned to the top 25 in this week's rankings, coming in at No. 22 after ranking 17th in the preseason poll. On the apparatuses, OSU's bars and beam are both top 20, ranking 15th and 16th respectively, while the floor lineup sits at No. 22 heading into Friday's matchup with a Crimson Tide side that is top five in the overall team rankings (three) and on vault (four), bars (three) and floor (three).
BETTER BARS:
OSU's bars lineup had its best showing of the 2026 season in the last meet, posting a season-high score for a single rotation with five scores tallying a 49.425, counting no lower than a 9.800 and posting a trio of 9.900-plus scores.
With the strong performance, the Beaver bars jumped 11 spots in the national rankings, climbing from 26 in week three to 15 heading into Friday's meet in Tuscaloosa.
B2B:
The Beavers tallied a season-high 196.600 against the Aggies, making it two-consecutive weeks that OSU has set a new season best mark for overall team scoring. Additionally, in having event title winners on all five events, the team has now won five event titles in back-to-back meets.
MILESTONE AHEAD:
Sophia Esposito has been a steady contributor to multiple Oregon State lineups throughout her career and is now approaching a big milestone: the 100 routine mark. Despite being early into her junior season, she's the team-leader in career hits and routines. With an appearance on just one apparatus Friday, Esposito will surpass 100 routines at Oregon State and enters Friday's competition with career 96 hits at a rate of 96.9%.
MONEY MILLER:
Savannah Miller has been a pillar of consistency for the Beavers in 2026, hitting on all 12 of her routines while excelling on floor. After a 9.700 in the season opener, Miller tallied a pair of 9.875s and before tying her career high on that event against Utah State, earning a 9.900 for the ninth time in her Oregon State career. She also set new personal bests with a pair of 9.775 scores on bars and vault and exhibitioned on beam for the first time in her collegiate career.
BIG-TIME BUCKNER:
Olivia Buckner's strong run of form continued against Utah State, posting another pair of 9.800-plus scores. Having posted a 9.875 on both beam and floor against Sacramento State on Jan. 16, the Riverton, Utah, native earned a season-high 9.850 for her vault against USU, winning the event title, while also adding a 9.800 on beam. Through four meets in 2026, Buckner has five scores of 9.800 or better and has a hit rate of 90%.
FLYIN':
Francesca Caso bounced back from a miss against Sacramento State in a big way, tying her career high against Utah State with a 9.900 on bars that came as part of OSU's season-best rotation score. Now a senior, Caso has been part of the bars lineup for her entire career, competing in 28 different meets on the uneven bars and previously earned a 9.900 during the Beavers' home win over Utah on March 11, 2023.
PAU PAU:
Paulina Vargas has competed on floor in all four meets in 2026 after making a lone exhibition appearance on beam during her freshman season in 2025. Having competed in the two spot for the team's first three competitions, Vargas moved into the leadoff role against Utah State last weekend and excelled, setting a new career-high with a 9.875 that surpassed the 9.825s she earned in each of the previous two weeks.
UP NEXT:
Oregon State gymnastics stays on the road for its next meet, heading to Boise, Idaho, for a quad meet hosted by the Broncos that also features San José State and UC Davis. Action at ExtraMile Arena is slated to begin at 6 p.m. PT / 7 p.m. MT next Friday, Feb. 6.
