Turley, Weber Named Academic All-Americans
July 01, 2025 | Baseball
CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State outfielder Gavin Turley and catcher Wilson Weber have been named First-Team Academic All-Americans by the College Sports Communicators, it was announced on Tuesday.
The duo become just the fourth pair of Beavers to earn Academic All-America honors in the same year.
Turley is also just the fourth Beaver to earn two Academic All-Americans following his third-team selection last season. He joins Ken Bowen (1986-87), Bryan Ganter (1986-87) and Travis Bazzana (2023-24).
Weber is the 12th player in Oregon State history to earn Academic All-America honors, and the sixth under Mitch Canham, who was a 2007 Academic All-American himself. Weber is joined by Bazzana and Turley, Ryan Ober (2020), Ben Ferrer (2023) and Bridger Holmes (2024).
Weber graduated from Oregon State with a degree in business administration, doing so while the team was in Omaha in June. Turley is also a business administration major. Players must have at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average to be eligible for Academic All-America honors.
Turley posted 20 home runs with a .351 batting average in 2025 and was named an All-American by D1Baseball.com, Baseball America, the College Baseball Foundation, the ABCA and the NCBWA.
Weber, meanwhile, concluded his Oregon State career by batting .326 this past season, collecting 15 doubles with 12 home runs and 58 RBI. He was named a Second-Team All-American by the ABCA.
