August 19, 2025 | Baseball, Women's Track & Field
CORVALLIS, Ore. – Sara Sanders and Wilson Weber have been named Oregon State's Tom Hansen Medal Winners for the 2024-25 academic year, the Pac-12 Conference announced on Tuesday.
Both Oregon State and Washington State are represented by one male and one female student-athlete for the honor, which was renamed for the former Pac-12 commissioner in 2009. Pac-12 medal winners have been named every year since the 1960-61 academic season.
Sanders, who lettered in track and field, was recognized as the 2025 Pac-12 Women's Track and Field Top Performer and Scholar-Athlete of the Year. She earned honorable mention All-America honors in the javelin at the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships. She also served as the President of the Oregon State Student-Advisory Committee and a member of the Pac-12 Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.
Weber completed his Oregon State career in June and was selected in the MLB Draft by Miami. He was named a First-Team Academic All-American by the College Sports Communicators and was a two-time Pac-12 Spring Academic Honor Roll designee. A semifinalist for the Buster Posey Award as the nation's top catcher, he batted .326 over 60 games, collecting 12 home runs and 58 RBI in helping guide Oregon State to its eighth Men's College World Series appearance.
