Beavers Fall at Paul Lorenz

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Oregon State women's soccer fell, 1-0, to the New Mexico Lobos on Sunday at Paul Lorenz Field.
Alyssa White led the OSU attack with five shots, including two on target, forcing saves in the 12th and 40th minutes. White, who made her first start as a Beav on Thursday, started again and played 56 minutes.
Nathalie Mejia came on during the first half for her first appearance in orange and black while Hailey Martinez was back in the lineup, playing 21 minutes as a reserve. Mya Sanchez, Mia Erba, Kassidy Michael and Abbi Leonard all played the full 90.
Michael forced a diving save in the 26th minute as she finished with three shots, while Figueroa (two shots), Avery Pleiman (two shots, two shots on goal) and Nathalie Lewis (two shots, one on goal) all finished with at least two attempts on goal.
The Beavers finished Sunday's game with a 17-12 advantage in total shots, with both teams even in shots on goal at six; OSU also held an 11-7 advantage in corner kicks and forced four Lobo saves in the second half alone.
In net, Sanchez made five saves and posted a save percentage of 83.3, bringing her season totals up to 19 saves and a save percentage of 76.0.
New Mexico struck first in the fifth minute off a set piece for the game's only goal.
Beaver women's soccer returns to action next weekend, facing Nebraska and South Dakota State; the team returns to Paul Lorenz Field on Oct. 4, hosting Portland.
