SAN BRUNO, Calif. – Oregon State senior Mya Sanchez (Turlock, Calif./Pitman HS) was named to the West Coast Conference All-Preseason Team, the conference announced on Thursday.
Sanchez proved to be one of the top goalkeepers in the conference in 2024, leading the WCC in saves (92) and saves per game (5.11) while ranking third in overall save percentage (78.0). She took her game to a new level during conference play, leading the league in save percentage across the Beavers' 10 conference games, stopping 83.0% of the shots she faced.
A two-time Defensive Player of the Week honoree, she had a career-high nine saves in a 2-1 victory over then-ranked No. 11 Santa Clara late in the season, as OSU was in the race for the conference championship until the final week of play. For her performances, Sanchez was an All-WCC Honorable Mention selection, also earning a spot on the All-WCC Academic Team as an honorable mention selection.
