CORVALLIS, Ore. – AC Froehlich, Taylor Treahy and Cheyenne Green tallied a combined 42 kills as Oregon State volleyball (7-6, 2-0 Pac-12) defeated the Texas State Bobcats (6-8, 1-2 Pac-12) in four sets at Gill Coliseum.

Froehlich led the way with 18 kills, hitting an astounding .567 while adding one assist, three service aces, three digs and one block. Treahy's night ended with 13 kills and five digs, while Green's 11 kill performance came on the heels of a career-best 15 last week against Washington State.

Taray Tela totaled nine kills and a match-high four blocks while Ivana Cvetkovic hit an even .300 across 10 total attacks, finishing the match with four kills.

Jackie Matias kept the offense moving with 44 assists, also contributing seven digs, while Isabel Bertelsen extended her streak of matches with double-digit kills up to six, amassing 13. Yasemin Narlioglu had 11 digs, which was her second-consecutive performance with 10 or more.

Both Bertelsen and Narlioglu finished the match with two service aces.

Oregon State started quick in this one, with back-to-back Froehlich aces making the score 8-3 and drawing a Bobcat timeout just 11 rallies into the match. Though Texas State used a 3-0 run to bring it within three, OSU rattled off six-straight midway through the set on its way to a commanding 25-15 win in the first.

The Beavers once again built an early lead in set two, going ahead 6-2 on a solo block by Tela. TXST then scored nine points across 10 rallies, taking a 12-8 lead, but Oregon State countered with runs of 4-0 and 3-0 down the stretch to end the set on a Froehlich kill, winning 25-22.

Texas State controlled early in the third but Oregon State once again battled back and finally regained the lead at 13-12, but the Bobcats responded and held off the Beavers to take set three.

Both teams traded blows early, but the Beaver attack rattled off multiple 3-0 runs and staved off a late TXST push on the way to a 25-21 set and match victory in the fourth. Froehlich took over, totaling five kills, while Matias posted 13 of her assists as Beaver volleyball improved to 2-0 in Pac-12 play.

Oregon State is at home for its next match, hosting Fresno State at 1 p.m. on Saturday.
