LA JOLLA, Calif. – The Oregon State men's soccer team remained atop the Pac-12 standings with a 1-0 win over UC San Diego Saturday evening in La Jolla, Calif.

Wyatt Borso scored the winning goal for the Beavers, his 10^th of the season and his fifth in his last four games. The forward now sits one goal away from cracking Oregon State's single-season top-10.

With the win, the Beavers move to 7-1-4 on the season and 3-0-1 in conference play. Oregon State remains one point ahead of Cal Baptist in the standings, with two Pac-12 matches remaining.

John Nicolson held his third clean sheet of the season, making two saves in the winning effort.

Oregon State had a chance to take an early lead, when it was awarded a ninth-minute penalty kick after a VAR review. The San Diego State keeper was able to make a diving save to keep the game scoreless. The Beavers put the ball in the net in the 14^th minute, but the strike was chalked off as offside.

The Tritons were awarded a penalty kick in the 15^th minute, but failed to convert. Oregon State opened the scoring the 32^nd minute on a Borso strike off an assist from Milo Wray. Nicolson made a save in the 42^nd minute to maintain the advantage, as Oregon State headed to the break up 1-0.

Tim Hoffman nearly added a Beaver second in the 63^rd minute, but his effort drifted just over the crossbar. Gavin Wolff was just off target minutes later, as his curling effort drifted out for a goal kick.

Oregon State was reduced to 10 players in the 86^th minute, after Max Eisenberg was sent off with his second yellow card. The Beavers maintained possession in the closing minutes to secure the one-goal victory.

Oregon State will return to Lorenz Field Wednesday to take on CSU Bakersfield in its first Big West Crossover match of the year, before returning to Pac-12 play Saturday at Cal Poly.
