Borso, Nicolson Earn Weekly Honors

CORVALLIS – Oregon State standouts Wyatt Borso and John Nicolson have both earned Pac-12 weekly awards, the conference office announced Tuesday.

Borso was named Pac-12 Newcomer of the Week, after scoring a pair of goals. The forward found the new in the Beavers' 4-1 win over Cal Baptist on Wednesday, and then followed that up with the game-winning goal against UC San Diego on Saturday. Overall, Borso has 10 goals on the season, the highest total in the Pac-12 and the third-highest amount in the nation.

Nicolson was tabbed as Defensive Player of the Week after allowing just one goal in two games. The goalkeeper held Cal Baptist to a single goal, and then held a clean sheet against UC San Diego, accumulating a total of seven saves on the week.

As a team, Oregon State sits 7-1-4 on the season and 3-0-1 in Pac-12 play. The Beavers are in first place in the conference standings, as they prepare to take on CSU Bakersfield and Cal Poly this week.
