The teams went back-and-forth early, with the Beavers claiming a 22-16 lead early on behind 14 points from DeShawn Gory. The Lancers kept it close, until Oregon State was able to open up an 11-point lead with six minutes left in the first half.

Oregon State led 44-34 at the break.

The Beaver offense got hot early in the second half, as back-to-back Dennis Evans dunks put Oregon State in front 58-43. OSU led by 15 with 8:31 on the clock, and extended the lead to 21 with just over three minutes remaining.
