Bryce Hubbard and Jacob Galloway both tallied two hits but Oregon State was unable to hold on to a 3-1 lead in a 5-3 loss to Michigan in the season opener Friday. Hubbard singled home a run in the fifth while Galloway doubled once. Easton Talt and Jacob Krieg both drove in runs in the Beavers' half of the first. Dax Whitney started and struck out six while allowing five hits, a run and three walks in five innings.
