Oregon State Ends Trip To Round Rock, Loses 5-2
February 22, 2026 | Baseball
ROUND ROCK, Texas –Jacob Krieg and Josh Proctor each drove in runs in the second but that's all the offense Oregon State was able to muster in a 5-2 loss to Purdue Sunday at Dell Diamond.
Krieg grounded out up the middle for the Beavers' first run of the day, then watched as Proctor hit a sharp single to left to put Oregon State (4-3) up 2-1 in the second inning.
Purdue (4-3), however, went ahead for good with four runs in the fifth. Brandon Rogers tied the game with a single, then scored when the Boilermakers plated two on an Oregon State throwing error. A groundout netted Purdue its final run of the inning.
Eric Segura made his second start of the season and departed after 4 1/3 innings. He scattered four hits and four runs – three earned – while striking five before giving way to Wyatt Queen. Segura took the loss, dropping to 0-1.
Segura's counterpart, Jarvis Evans, held the Beavers to three hits and two runs in 6 1/3 innings. He got the win to improve to 1-0.
Oregon State returns to action Friday when playing the first of three games in Frisco, Texas. The Beavers take on Houston in a game that starts at 12 p.m. PT (2 p.m. in Texas).
