Oregon State nearly overcame a six-run deficit in an 8-7 loss to Alabama on Saturday. The Beavers scored twice in the ninth but a fly ball double play and fielder's choice foiled the comeback bid. Josh Proctor and Adam Haight each hit their first career home runs and the Beavers tallied a season-best 12 hits in the loss. Easton Talt doubled and went 3-for-5 while Cooper Vance drove in a pair.
