Last Game
Oregon State hit four home runs en route to a 7-5 series-opening win over San Diego Friday night at Fowler Park. Easton Talt and Josh Proctor hit back-to-back home runs in the first, followed by Paul Vazquez in the fifth and Jacob Krieg in the seventh. Dax Whitney took the run support and scattered three hits and an unearned run in five innings. He struck out nine. Talt, Vazquez, AJ Singer and Jacob Galloway all had two hits in the win. Albert Roblez closed out the game with his sixth save of the season.

Oregon State Notables
• The Beavers have now won 10 consecutive games against San Diego dating back to 2016. Oregon State has scored at least five runs in nine of those 10 games while holding San Diego to three or less six times.
• Ethan Kleinschmit, Saturday's probable starter, went 5 2/3 innings last season against San Diego in his fourth appearance as a Beaver. He scattered four hits with a walk and a run while striking out six.
• Kleinschmit's start is his first in true road games this season. He was 2-2 with a 6.19 ERA in 30 innings in true road games last season. He struck out 35 while issuing 11 walks.
• Jacob Krieg is now tied for ninth at Oregon State with 27 career home runs. Krieg is tied with Bob McNair (1978-80) and Jim Wilson (1980-82).
• Jacob Galloway extended his hit streak to nine games with a 2-for-5 effort in game one. That equals Adam Haight, who saw his nine-game streak snapped Friday, for the longest by a Beaver this season.
• Galloway has 13 hits and four walks during the streak.
• The four home runs by the Beavers Friday marked a season-high.
• Dax Whitney upped his season strikeout tally to 54 in 29 1/3 innings after posting nine in the opener.
• OSU struck out 16 in Friday's win and has 205 on the season. The Beavers have struck out at least 16 in six of 16 games this season.
• Oregon State's starting pitchers are 4-0 with a 1.69 earned run average in March. They've struck out 41 while allowing nine walks and 23 hits in 32 innings.
• OSU is 8-2 in games decided by two runs or less this season.
• The Beavers failed to draw a walk in Friday's win, something that had not happened since May 2, 2021 against UCLA. Oregon State went 286 straight games drawing at least one walk before Friday's game.
