Singer’s Grand Slam Paces Beavers To Comeback Win Over Titans
April 18, 2026 | Baseball
CORVALLIS, Ore. – AJ Singer's eight-inning grand slam spurred a six-run frame and an Oregon State comeback in a 6-1 win over Cal State Fullerton Saturday afternoon in front of 4,056 fans at Goss Stadium at Coleman Field.
Easton Talt and Bryson Glassco each singled to open the inning, and the Beavers (29-8 overall), trailing 1-0, eventually loaded the bases with one down after Josh Proctor was intentionally walked. Up to the plate stepped Singer, who took the first pitch he saw from reliever Andrew Wright, then hit a line drive over the fence in right center to put Oregon State up, 4-1.
Paul Vazquez and Jacob Galloway followed that up with run-scoring doubles in an inning that saw OSU tally six hits and send 10 batters to the plate. Prior to the inning, the Beavers had just four hits in the first seven frames on the day.
Singer ended the day with two hits, as did Vazquez and Adam Haight.
Cal State Fullerton scored its lone run of the game in the fourth on a single by Eli Lopez. It was the lone blemish on starter Ethan Kleinschmit's line. The lefty scattered seven hits with eight strikeouts in 6 1/3 innings.
He gave way to Zach Edwards in the seventh and the righty immediately stranded a runner. He went 1 2/3 scoreless, and eventually got the win when the Beavers pushed ahead in the eighth. He is 2-0.
Cal State Fullerton's (19-18) Bobby Mahoney started and held OSU to three hits in a scoreless five innings. Wright, the third of four pitchers for the Titans, took the loss after giving up six hits and six runs while recording one out in the eighth. He is 2-4.
Oregon State and Cal State Fullerton conclude their three-game series Sunday with a 1:05 p.m. PT first pitch at Goss Stadium.
