Bryce Hubbard homered and Dax Whitney tossed 6 2/3 innings of scoreless baseball to lead No. 9 Oregon State to an 8-0 win over Lamar Friday night at Vincent-Beck Stadium. Hubbard homered in the seventh, delivering a solo shot over the right field fence despite strong winds. He also drove in a pair on a single in the second inning. Whitney made his eighth start of the season and was dominant, scattering four hits with two walks. He struck out 10 and surpassed 200 for his Oregon State career. He got the win, improving to 5-0 on the year. Zach Edwards tossed the final 2 1/3 innings, striking out three to give the Beavers 13 on the night. The Beavers, up 5-0, scored three runs in the ninth.
