Beavers Wrap Up Action at California Invite

REDWOOD SHORES, Calif. – A Sunday win over UC San Diego highlighted the Oregon State men's rowing team's weekend at the California Invite in Redwood Shores, Calif.
The Beaver Varsity 8 took down the Tritons Sunday morning, stopping the clock in 5:56.5. The Oregon State 2V8 also claimed victory over UCSD, coming in with a time of 6:06.6.
"Lots of learning happened over this weekend," said Oregon State head coach Galen Bernick. "It was great to go up against some strong competition over the weekend. I believe it's a stepping stone forward towards MPSF and IRA. I think the team knows the road ahead and we are going to continue to build."
The Oregon State Varsity 8 fell to national powers Stanford and California on Saturday. The Beavers clocked a time of 6:00.3 vs. the Cardinal and followed the up with a time of 6:04 against the Golden Bears' 2V8.
The Beavers 2V8 also came up short to both Cal and Stanford, coming in with times of 6:10.3 and 6:12.9, respectively. The Oregon State 3V8 fell to Stanford and California on Saturday, before coming up just short against Wisconsin on Sunday.
Oregon State will be back in action next weekend to take on Washington at Vancouver Lake.
