NEWBERG, Ore. – Oregon State closed out the regular season at the George Fox NCAA Final Qualifier with a historic performance from freshman Bea Pettersson, who broke the school record in the shot put and secured a qualifying mark for the 2026 NCAA West Preliminary Round.
Pettersson highlighted Thursday's competition with a winning throw of 15.81m/51-10.5 in the shot put, surpassing the previous Oregon State record and moving to No. 1 in program history as a freshman. The mark also met the qualifying standard for next season's NCAA West Prelims. Earlier in the day, she opened competition with another victory in the hammer throw at 55.45m/181-11.
