Beavers Battle Top Opposition in Ithaca

ITHACA, N.Y. – The No. 25 Oregon State men's rowing team faced off against some of the top teams in the nation, as it raced against No. 8 Penn, No. 13 Cornell and No. 21 Holy Cross Friday and Saturday in Ithaca, N.Y.
"Tough racing for the Beavs this weekend" said Oregon State Lead Coach Galen Bernick. "We have some things to internalize and build. Thanks to Cornell, Penn, and Holy Cross."
Holy Cross defeated both Oregon State boats to open action on Saturday. The Oregon State Varsity 8 started its day by finishing with a time of 6:33.4, while the 2V8 finished in 6:37.5. The Beaver Varsity 8 and 2V8 both also finished behind Penn Saturday afternoon, clocking times of 6:31.0 and 6:41.8, respectively.
The Beavers opened action Friday against Cornell. The Big Red claimed victory in the Varsity 8 race, with the Oregon State boat coming in with a time of 6:07.9. The Beavers also came in second in the 2V8 race, stopping the clock in 6:08.7.
Oregon State will have next weekend off, before heading to Northern California on May 16 for the MPSF Championships.
