Beavers Dominate WSU, Advance To Take On Oregon Sunday Night

EUGENE, Ore. – Catcher Jacob Galloway drove in a career-high five runs and Trey Morris struck out nine over 6 2/3 innings as Oregon State eliminated Washington State 10-1 on Sunday at PK Park to advance in the Eugene Regional.
Galloway went a perfect 4-for-4, accounting for half of the Beavers' RBI total and adding a stolen base. Morris (7-0) was in command from the start, scattering six hits and a lone run while walking just one to stay unbeaten on the year. Tanner Douglas closed it out with 2 1/3 hitless, scoreless innings and two more strikeouts, giving the OSU staff 11 punch outs on the day.
Oregon State (45-13) never trailed, scoring in four separate innings. The Beavers struck for three in the second on RBIs from Galloway, Easton Talt and AJ Singer, then blew it open with a four-run third — Galloway's two-run single the big blow — to make it 7-0. They tacked on a run in the fourth and two more in the eighth.
The lineup pounded out 15 hits, with five Beavers collecting multiple knocks. Talt (2-for-4, two RBI), Singer (2-for-6), Paul Vazquez (2-for-4, two runs) and Josh Proctor (2-for-3, double, two walks) all reached safely throughout, keeping the line moving in front of Galloway.
Washington State (31-28) managed just seven hits and avoided the shutout with a single run in the seventh. Starter Griffin Smith (5-5) took the loss, charged with four runs over two innings before the Beavers chased the Cougars' bullpen.
Oregon State improves to 13-5 in elimination games under Mitch Canham. The Beavers advance to face Oregon in the Eugene Regional final today at 6 p.m. on ESPN+ — the sixth straight season Oregon State has reached a Regional final, all under Canham.
