NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The Oregon State women's soccer team fell 2-0 to Lipscomb Sunday morning in Nashville, Tenn.

The Beavers created a number of scoring chances in the match, as they battled the reigning Atlantic Sun Conference champions. OSU out-shot the Bisons 11-10 on the night, and forced the Lipscomb keeper to make six saves.

Oregon State got off to a strong start, earning a pair of corner kicks within the first five minutes of play. Morgan Long forced a save from the Lipscomb keeper in the 12^th minute, as the two sides went back-and-forth early on.

Abby Smith nearly found the breakthrough in the 24^th minute, as she forced a diving save with a shot to the near post. The Corvallis native forced another save in the 36^th from a free kick. Lipscomb was able to open the scoring in the 41^st minute, and the Bison carried a 1-0 lead into the intermission.

Sophia Zboyan took aim early in the second half looking to level the score, but her effort sailed over the crossbar. London Tsuma came close with a shot from a tight angle in the 61^st minute, but just missed the target. The Beavers nearly found the equalizer minutes later off an indirect free kick, but the attempt was deflected over the crossbar.

The Bison scored a second in the 77^th minute. The Beavers continued to attack down the stretch, but could not get on the scoreboard.

Alexi Morgan made her first start as a Beaver, going the full 90 minutes in goal and making three saves.

Oregon State will return home Wednesday for its home opener vs. Bushnell.
