CORVALLIS – The Oregon State women's soccer team fell to Seattle U 4-0 Thursday evening at Lorenz Field in Corvallis, Ore.

The Redhawks scored twice early in the contest. The Beavers controlled portions of the game after that, but Seattle U recorded two more in the second half to put the match out of reach.

Mary Hoffman and Lea Gentry took three shots apiece for the Beavers. Libby Brooker made nine saves, including some impressive stops in the first half.

Oregon State took a total of 11 shots in the contest.

Abby Smith took a pair of shots within the first six minutes, as the Beavers were knocking on the door early on. The Redhawks took the lead in the ninth minute, scrambling one home from close range after a corner kick. Seattle U would proceed to double the advantage less than five minutes later.

Leanne Oropeza nearly pulled one back in the 16^th, but he shot sailed just over the bar. Oregon State controlled the latter phase of the opening half, but could not find the net as the Redhawks headed to the intermission up 2-0.

The teams went back-and-forth to start the second half. The Redhawks netted a third in the 72^nd minute and another in the closing seconds to secure the victory.

The Beavers will head north to take on Portland Sunday at 3 p.m.
