Oregon State Men’s Golf Opens 2026 Season Monday In Idaho

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Brian Watts' second tenure as Oregon State men's golf head coach gets underway Monday when he and the Beavers travel to Idaho for the two-day CDA National Reserve Invitational. The event is hosted by Eastern Washington.
Watts originally led the Oregon State program from 2001-2010, taking the Beavers to five NCAA Regionals and a tie for 16th at the 2010 NCAA Championships. He was named Oregon State's current head coach this past summer.
WHERE: The tournament is being held at the par-72, 7,254-yard CDA National Reserve course in Coeur D'Alene, Idaho.
WHEN: The tournament runs two days, Monday and Tuesday, with 36 holes slated for Monday and 18 on Tuesday. All three rounds are stroke play with the top four players counting toward each round's score.
TIME: Each day gets underway at 8 a.m. PT.
Here's a look at the Beavers' 2026-27 roster.
Owen Bascom (Sophomore, North Bend, Ore.) — A transfer from Cal State Stanislaus who was a decorated prep player at North Bend High, winning the 2025 OSAA 4A state title and taking runner-up at the Oregon Junior Amateur. At Stanislaus he was nominated for freshman athlete of the year and posted multiple top-20 finishes.
Ethan Elleraas (Sophomore, San Diego, Calif.) — Coming off a solid first college season, playing 24 rounds at a 73.91 average with a standout fourth-place, 54-hole low of 207 (-6) at Bandon Dunes Collegiate. He is a Torrey Pines product with a deep AJGA résumé.
Matt Forsyth (Senior, Eugene, Ore.) — He led Bushnell with a 72.1 stroke average across all 10 events last season, tied a single-season school scoring record, and earned CCC All-Conference and two Golfer of the Week honors as a Southern Oregon transfer.
Davis Hartwell (Freshman, Klamath Falls, Ore.) — A two-time Oregon state champion (2024-25) out of Crosspoint Christian who also reached the round of 32 at the U.S. Junior Amateur.
Quinn Hefele (Freshman, Portland, Ore.) — A Lincoln High product and two-time PIL champion who advanced to the round of 16 at the 2026 Oregon Amateur and round of 32 at the PNGA Men's Amateur.
Stanley Lin (Senior, Taipei, Taiwan) — The team's most experienced international competitor, he played 35 rounds last season at a 73.06 average with a season-low 67 and a tie for 26th at the NCAA Corvallis Regional.
Miles Romagnoli (Freshman, Caloundra, Queensland, Australia) — An international addition who posted a 71.19 scoring average across Australian national ranking events and helped Queensland win the 2025 Australian Junior Interstate Series.
