SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – The Oregon State men's soccer team earned a 3-1 road win over No. 25 UC Santa Barbara Sunday evening in Santa Barbara, Calif.

The victory is the Beavers' second over a ranked opponent this season, as Oregon State moves to 3-1-3 on the year – completing a stretch of six road matches in its first seven games of 2026.

Wyatt Borso opened the scoring, notching his team-high fifth goal of the season. Tim Hoffman recorded his second goal of the campaign, before Michael Nesci closed out the scoring with a second-half wondergoal.

John Nicolson made a season-high eight saves in the winning effort.

The Beavers opened the scoring less than four minutes into the contest, when Borso redirected Max Eisenberg's cross into the net. The Gauchos looked like they had scored in the 10^th minute, but the goal was overturned after video review.

Borso nearly netted his second in the 22^nd minute, forcing the goalkeeper to make a diving save. UC Santa Barbara evened things up in the 24^th minute. Hoffman forced a turnover in the Gaucho third and converted from short range to put the Beavers back in front in the 32^nd minute. Oregon State headed to the intermission leading 2-1.

Nesci added the Beavers' third in the 54^th minute, firing an absolute rocket into the net from 20 yards out. The Gauchos pressed forward looking to get back into the game in the latter phases. Oregon State's back line held firm to send the Beavers back to Corvallis with the two-goal victory.

The Beavers will make their long awaited return to Lorenz Field on Wednesday for a matchup with Seattle U.
