Matias Named Pac-12 Setter of the Week

CORVALLIS, Ore. – Jackie Matias has been recognized as the Pac-12's Setter of the Week, it was announced Tuesday.

Matias totaled 62 assists over the weekend, averaging 10.33 per set, to go with 19 digs across six sets played. She recorded her fourth double-double of the season in a sweep of Portland State, finishing the match with 38 assists and 11 digs, also contributing a career-best five kills on .833 hitting; when the Beavs faced No. 23 Oregon, she amassed 24 assists and eight digs.

A senior from Honolulu, Hawai'i, Matias leads the team in total assists (350) and assists per set (9.72) this season, marks that both rank second-highest in the Pac-12. With her play, Oregon State as a team currently leads the conference in assists with 438, averaging 12.17 per set, while the Beaver attack's 476 kills and 13.22 per set are also top marks.

Named Pac-12 Setter of the Week on Sept. 1, Matias is the first Beaver to win multiple Pac-12 weekly honors in the same season since Kylee McLaughlin earned consecutive Freshman of the Week awards late in the 2017 season.
