LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Oregon State volleyball dropped its final matchup of the weekend, falling in three sets to the No. 16 USC Trojans.

AC Froehlich led the offense with nine kills, also contributing six digs and two blocks for a team-high 11 total points. Taylor Treahy made her return to the lineup and posted eight kills and four blocks, while Alana Marrs had five kills and a match-high seven blocks.

Jackie Matias totaled 19 assists, two digs, one block and one kill, while Isabel Bertelsen was back in double digits for the fourth time in her last five appearances, amassing 12 digs on the day.

After USC won the first set 25-15, Oregon State kept things close in the second. Froehlich had kills on three of the team's first four points of the set, adding an ace in the middle portion that, when combined with a Trojan attack error, brought the match within a single point at 14-13 in favor of the hosts.

A 5-0 run made the Beaver disadvantage 16-23, but the Beavers built momentum thanks to a 3-0 run that included a Marrs and Froehlich block, but USC maintained its lead to win 25-21.

The hosts once again started fast in the third set, but Oregon State once again roared back to level the set at six apiece thanks to a 5-0 run. Taray Tela tallied two aces and a kill as part of that run, and the Beavers consistently kept the score within two points, even bringing the set within one at 16-17, but USC pulled away to win the set and match.

Oregon State volleyball returns home next week, hosting Portland State at 6 p.m. on Friday.
