LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Oregon State volleyball dropped Friday's match to the No. 23 Colorado Buffaloes, falling in straight sets at the Galen Center.

Cheyenne Green led the team with seven kills as AC Froehlich tallied six kills, four digs and two blocks. Beatrice Spada amassed six kills, five digs and two blocks in her first career start while Alana Marrs' night finished with a line of five kills and four blocks; Taray Tela rounded out OSU's offense with four kills, also contributing one dig and two blocks.

Jackie Matias was one dig shy of a double-double, totaling nine digs and 23 assists, both of which were team high marks, while Isabel Bertelsen finished the match with seven digs and two assists. Kama Goldstein had an ace as Oregon State finished with four in the match.

Both teams traded blows early in the first set. A Marrs kill made it 2-0 as OSU managed several single point leads, but CU broke things open with a stretch of nine points in 11 rallies. The Beavers responded, however, going on a 6-0 run that was capped off by a Spada kill to level the score, but the Buffaloes pulled away to take set one, 25-18.

Set two saw the Beavers once again hold multiple early leads. A Tela ace made it 4-3 and the Provo, Utah, native later made it 9-7 with her third kill of the match. After the Buffaloes built out a lead as big as five, OSU once again battled back, bringing it within two at 19-21, but Colorado finished on a 4-0 run to take the second.

The match leaders came out firing early in the third and quickly took a 4-1 lead, but OSU quickly bounced back and battled, finding a lead midway through the set thanks to Green's sixth kill, putting Oregon State up by one at 15-14 heading into the media break.

A Buffalo run made the deficit three, but Oregon State roared back with a 4-0 run of its own, coming within one point of the set when the team led 24-23, but CU rattled off three straight to win the set and match.

Beaver volleyball will play two more this weekend in The Golden State, facing Arizona Saturday and No. 16 Southern California, who are the weekend hosts, on Sunday.
