CORVALLIS – The Oregon State women's soccer team battled Utah to a 1-1 draw Sunday afternoon at Paul Lorenz Field.

Abby Smith scored for the Beavers, finding the net for the second-straight game. Her goal came in the 41^st minute, leveling the score after Oregon State had fallen behind on a Utah penalty kick.

London Tsuma took aim with the Beavers' first shot, missing just wide in the seventh minute. Utah opened the scoring in the 10^th minute on a penalty kick. Lea Gentry forced a save in the 26^th, as Oregon State attempted to equalize.

Smith tied things up five minutes before the break, redirecting a Grace Wetzel cross into the net from close range. Sophia Zboyan also recorded an assist on the goal, her first as a Beaver.

The teams went back-and-forth to start the second half. Mary Hoffman nearly found Avery Pleiman at the back post in the 61^st minute. Gentry came close to breaking the deadlock in the 68^th, but her shot from 20 yards out curled just outside the post.

Utah looked as if it had claimed a late winner in the 85^th minute, but the goal was chalked off as offside following video review. The match continued end-to-end in the closing minutes, but neither side was able to net the decisive goal.

Gentry led the Beavers with three shots in the match. Libby Brooker made four saves and did not allow a goal from open play.

The Beavers will be back at Lorenz Field on Thursday for a matchup with Seattle U.
