Jan. 21, 2013
CORVALLIS, Ore. - The Oregon State men's soccer has announced plans for the 12th annual Coaches Clinic scheduled for the weekend of Feb. 16-17. The event will take place on campus at the Merritt Truax Indoor Center & Valley Football Center.
The clinic will feature field sessions and lectures from the Oregon State coaching staff, led by head coach Steve Simmons. Field sessions will cover various topics including maximizing training sessions and in-game strategy, while lectures will touch on topics such as team building and player evaluation.
Oregon State assistants Adam Pearce and Dustin Norman will also be in attendance, along with strength and conditioning coach Nate Barry. A field session on soccer fitness is featured on Sunday morning.
Simmons is a two-time Mid-American Conference Coach of the Year honoree and recently had the second player from under his watch at OSU be selected in the first round of the Major League Soccer SuperDraft. Forward Emery Welshman was selected 16th overall by Toronto last week.
Tuition is $135 in advance and $150 at the door and includes instruction, a clinic handbook and Saturday luncheon.
