The 2026 season marks Dre Farris’ first at Oregon State as an offensive graduate assistant. Farris came to Corvallis after stops at Georgia Southern and Valdosta High School in addition to a collegiate career at Western Kentucky and professional season with the Ottawa RedBlacks.

Farris most recently served as a graduate assistant at Georgia Southern, working with the team’s cornerbacks. He coached the team through the JLab Birmingham Bowl. He joined the program after two years at Valdosta High School, where he also coached cornerbacks and helped mentor two players who went on to sign with Southeastern Conference teams.

Farris enjoyed a four-year career with Western Kentucky as a defensive back and wide receiver. He finished 15th in the nation for pass breakups in 2017-18,a dn was a third-team all-conference selection three times. A 2018 team captain, he also served on the program’s Leadership Council in 2017. He graduated with a degree in interdisciplinary studies and went on to play one season for Ottawa in the Canadian Football League, starting 12 games in 2019 and finishing with 48 tackles, a pass breakup and one interception.
