Michael E. Rutledge, II, Ph. D. joined Oregon State University in October of 2024 as the Associate Athletic Director for Student Athlete Development.

Prior to OSU, Rutledge worked at Eastern Washington University as the Associate Athletic Director of Athletic Academic Success. While there, the student athlete population attained some of their highest quarterly GPAs, including an overall average GPA of 3.51 for the 2023-2024 academic year.

Prior to EWU, Rutledge has worked in various roles at the University of New Orleans, Louisiana State University, Southern University, and Florida State University.
Rutledge is also a member of the Minority Opportunities Athletic Association (MOAA) where he serves on the Creative Services Committee.

Originally from Houston, Texas, he received both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Texas State University and his Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from Texas A&M University.
