CORVALLIS, Ore. - Oregon State's baseball game that had been scheduled for Wednesday afternoon at the University of Portland was rained out. The game will be rescheduled for later this season, but no date has been set.
OSU (13-10 overall, 0-0 Pacific-10) will return home this weekend for a four-game series against Cal State-Northridge at Goss Stadium at Coleman Field. The Beavers and Matadors (10-16) will meet in a single game Friday at 2 p.m., a doubleheader Saturday at noon, and a single game Sunday at noon.
The games against the Matadors are United Rentals Spring Break Weekend. For $10, a family of two adults and two children receive general admission tickets thanks to United Rentals. Also, with a donation of two canned food items, fans receive a 12-ounce Beaver mug or a free popcorn, thanks to Sodexho/Marriott Services.
The series against Cal State-Northridge opens a seven-game homestand for Oregon State. The Beavers will open Pacific-10 play against UCLA the weekend of March 31-April 2, with single games March 31 at 2 p.m. and April 1 and 2 at 1 p.m. both days.
Oregon State has won 12 of its last 17 games and is on a two-game winning streak. Last weekend, the Beavers placed second in the Continental Express Classic at Texas A&M by winning three of their six games in the tournament.
