West Linn, Ore., native Courtney Carter is an accomplished former Oregon State women's soccer player who now calls the Big Apple home. Carter currently works in New York City for ESPN as a director for the network's Sport Management Group, but made her name in Corvallis on the pitch of Lorenz Field during the early 2000's.
OREGON STATE: (2004) Courtney returns to the OSU lineup after redshirting her true senior year due to a fractured fibula and tibia suffered in a preseason contest in Costa Rica... brings tremendous leadership and skill to the Beaver attack... one of 16 returning letterwinners and 12 returning starters... on OSU's career lists, ranks 10th in scoring with 37 points (15 goals, seven assists), and ninth in goals with 15... has played in 59 of a possible 61 career games... has three career multi-goal games... team is 7-2-2 when Carter scores a goal... coach Fennah's comments: "Courtney speaks for herself. Leadership, ability - it'll be a shot in the arm to have her back." (2003) Did not play - medical redshirt... named team's Most Inspirational Player. (2002) Courtney played in all 20 games, starting 18... led the team with 19 points on eight goals and three assists, all career-highs... tied for eighth in Pac-10 scoring, tied for seventh in goals... seven of her goals came in three games, including a hat trick in a span of 10 minutes, 15 seconds in a win over Air Force; her final two goals came 1:23 apart to set an OSU record for least time between goals, breaking Val Williams' 1994 mark... tallied two scores in a win over New Mexico, and two more in a win over Arizona... Carter was one of six Pac-10 players to record a hat trick in 2002... named second-team Academic All-Pac-10... first-team academic all-region... 19 points equaled the 10th-best total in school history... eight goals tied her for seventh on the OSU season list. (2001) Played in all 20 games with nine starts... voted to Pac-10 All-Academic second-team... fourth on the team with 12 points on five goals and two assists... 21 shots.
