
Beavers to Take on Utah Sunday

THE GAMES: The Oregon State women's soccer will host Utah Sunday afternoon at Paul Lorenz Field.

UP NEXT: Oregon State will host Seattle U Thursday evening at Lorenz Field, before heading up to Merlo Field next Sunday for a matchup with Portland.
Quick Hitters:
- Corvallis native Abby Smith scored her first Oregon State goal against Washington on Sunday.
- Sophia Zboyan, Lea Gentry and Ava Burdeyny were named to the Pac-12 Preseason Impact List
- Oregon State returns six players from last year's squad, compared to 22 newcomers
- Adele Schwab is Oregon State's leading returner, having started all 19 matches for the Beavers last season. The midfielder was tied for the team lead with eight points on the year.
- Oregon State returns to action as a member of the Pac-12 this season, after playing the prior two campaigns in the WCC. The Beavers are joined in the new-look conference by Boise State, San Diego State, Colorado State, Fresno State, Washington State, Texas State and Gonzaga.
- For the first time in conference history, the Pac-12 will hold a women's soccer tournament this year, with the top-four regular-season finishers making the event.
- Mya Sanchez, a two-time All-WCC Honorable Mention who started every game the past two seasons, graduated and signed a professional contract with Shelbourne FC in Ireland's League of Ireland Premier Division.
The Staff:
- Caroline Kelly took over as interim head coach prior to the 2024 season, and was promoted to head coach ahead of last season's campaign.Â
- Kelly also served as an assistant coach for the Beavers from 2021-23. Prior to that she had stints at Cincinnati, Army and Dartmouth
- Kwame Oduro was promoted to the role of Associate Head Coach ahead of the 2026 season. Oduro joined the Oregon State staff in the winter of 2025, after spending 10 years as the head coach of the St. Bonaventure men's soccer program.
- Connor Golley is in his first season on the Oregon State staff. He joins the Beavers after stints at Rhode Island and St. Bonaventure.
The Matchups:
- Oregon State will be facing Utah for the 17th time in program history.Â
- The Beavers claimed a 2-1 win in Salt Lake City last season. Oregon State trailed 1-0 at the break in that contest, before scoring a pair of second-half goals to take the victory.
- Oregon State is 2-0-1 in its last three home matchups with the Utes.
