Towson 67, Oregon State 66 (OT)
December 29, 2012
Gill Coliseum
Corvallis, Ore.
Eric Moreland had six blocked shots to tie the Oregon State single-game record. It's the seventh time a Beavers' player has swatted six shots in a game and the second time for Moreland, who had six in last season's quadruple-overtime loss to Stanford on Jan. 7, 2012.
Moreland had 16 points and a career-high 18 rebounds for his third consecutive double-double. It's his sixth double-double of the season and ninth in his career. His previous career high was 16 rebounds at Kansas on Nov. 30, 2012.
Moreland has now scored in double figures seven times this season and 11 times in his career. He also has eight double-figure rebounding games on the season and 19 in his career.
Moreland also played a career-high 40 minutes. He previous career best was 36 against Alabama on Nov. 15 at Madison Square Garden in the 2K Sports Classic.
Roberto Nelson had a season-high seven rebounds, which is just one short of his career high of eight that he had last season against Howard.
Oregon State limited Towson to 38.5 percent (25-65) shooting from the field. It's the seventh time this season an opponent has shot less than 40 percent from the field. The Beavers held only seven of their 36 opponents below the 40 percent clip last season.
The Beavers scored a season-low 24 second-half points. Their previous low in a half this season was 27 in the second half against Purdue on Nov. 16 at Madison Square Garden in the 2K Sports Classic.
The Beavers shot 34.8 percent (23-66) from the field, the first time they've shot less than 40 percent in a game this season.
