Beavers To Host Kent State Wednesday Night

THE GAME: Oregon State (3-9) plays its final non-conference game of the season when it takes on Kent State (7-4) at 8 p.m. on Wednesday at Gill Coliseum.

vs. KENT STATE: Oregon State and Kent State have played one time previously, which the Beavers won, 76-68, on Dec. 29, 1997 at the Afook-Chinen Civic Auditorium in Hilo, Hawai'i.

Four Beavers scored in double figures, led by 18 points off the bench from Jerome Vaden. Corey Benjamin had 16 points and five rebounds, Ron Grady added 12 points and five rebounds, and J.B. Bickerstaff packed the stat sheet with 10 points, six assists and five rebounds.

John Whorton led Kent State with a game-high 22 points, while John Callaway added 14 points and Kyrem Massey chipped in 11.

Oregon State went undefeated in its three games in Hawai'i that season, knocking off Hawai'i-Hilo, 79-68, on Dec. 28 and Boise State, 71-60, on Dec. 30.
