Beavers to Square Off with Stanford at Dexter

CORVALLIS, Ore. – The 17th-ranked Oregon State men's rowing team faces a tough Stanford team, ranked No. 8 in the nation, Saturday morning at Dexter Lake.
Saturday's racing between the Beavers and Cardinal will be a preview for next weekend's Pac-12 Championships on Lake Natoma. OSU and Stanford have battled as close rivals for several years vying for positions at the conference championships as well as berths at the Intercollegiate Rowing Association National Championships.
"There is no better way to finish the regular season before Pac-12 Championships than facing off against Stanford on our home course and in our top form," head coach Gabe Winkler said.
Three crews – the Varsity 8, Junior Varsity 8 and Third Varsity 8 – are slated to race head-to-head with the Cardinal beginning at 9 a.m. Racing will conclude with the Varsity 8 race at 9:30.
SCHEDULE:
9:00 a.m. – Third Varsity 8
9:15 a.m. – Junior Varsity 8
9:30 a.m. – Varsity 8
RESULTS: Results can be found by following @beavermrowing on Twitter.
ADMISSION: Admission is free. The race can be viewed from the shore at Lowell Recreation Site and the finish can be seen from the dock at the park.
COURSE: The 2,000-meter course begins near the covered bridge, passing the picnic area and marina at the Lowell Recreation Site and finishes approximately 500 meters past the dock at the boat ramp.
GETTING TO DEXTER LAKE:
From I-5 North or South:
Take Exit 188A Highway 58/Willamette Hwy – towards Oakridge
Follow Highway 58 east for approximately 13.5 miles
Left at Jasper-Lowell Rd (covered bridge is on the left-hand side right before the turn)
Follow Jasper-Lowell Rd. for 0.7 miles
Left on North Shore Dr.
North Shore Dr. turns into Pengra Rd.
Lowell Recreation Site is located 0.7 miles from turn on the left-hand side.
