Wingeleth Wins High Jump at UW Preview
January 12, 2019 | Women's Track & Field
SEATTLE – Highlighted by a win in the high jump from Ann Wingeleth, the Oregon State track & field team had a strong showing at the indoor season opener in Seattle during the UW Preview held at the Dempsey Indoor Center.
"Today showed how far we have come in one year as a program," said second year head coach Louie Quintana. "Last year we were competing hard, but finishing toward the bottom of the results. Today, we had a few wins and established some momentum that we will use through this indoor campaign."
Â
The Beavers had a great day individually setting 15 all-time marks in the Oregon State record books, which included the event win from Wingeleth. The redshirt junior missed on her first two attempts, but connected on the third for a personal best clear of 5-feet, 9.25-inches. Freshman Emma Nelson had a great showing in her first meet for the Beavers with an 8th place finish off a jump of 5-feet, 3-inches.
Â

Oregon State had all of its entries make the top 10 in the shot put. Redshirt freshman Keely McLaughlin paced the group placing fourth overall with her throw of 46-feet on the nose. That mark launched her up the Oregon State record books to the No. 2 all-time.
Â
Redshirt freshman Taylor Crockem and Sydney Guthrie-Baker finished in eighth and ninth place, respectively. Crockem's throw of 43-feet, 5-inches, in her first meet for the Beavers, gave her the fourth-best mark in the event in OSU history.
