
Oregon State Swims Hard Through Day Two of Pac-12 Championships

Beavers set 14 season best times and a new school record on the day
FEDERAL WAY, Wash. – The Beavers had a great day in the pool setting season best times in every event.
Felicia Anderson led off the 200 freestyle relay with a 23.02 50, good for a school record in the 50 free. Lindsay Swail, Erin Harvey, and Amanda Hoejberg made up the final legs of the season best relay performance.
The morning session started off with a strong performance for the Beavers in the 500 free. Lauren Yon led the way for the Beavers in the event with a time of 4:58.56, followed by Katie Manzione, Riley Neal, and Amina Bachir who all notched season best times in the event.
After the 500 free Arianna Letrari nearly cracked the finals of the 200 IM coming in just under two seconds behind the 24th spot. Her time of 2:02.55 was nearly four seconds faster than her seed time in the event.
Rounding out the morning events Oregon State had four swimmers within a second of making the finals in the 50 free. Felicia Anderson shaved nearly a second off her seed time finishing with a time of 23.20, a tenth of a second outside the top 24 to qualify for finals. Amanda Hoejberg also posted a top 10 time in the school record books in the event finishing with a time of 23.38.
Tomorrow the Beavers will compete in the 400 IM, 100 fly, 200 free, 100 breast, and 100 back prelims in the morning, with the top 24 times advancing to the evening session for finals.
"As a program we performed well," said Beaver head coach Jennifer Buffin. "Although everyone was focused on their own races, the team is an important part of individual success and the entire team showed up for eachother today."
